The main focus of Divan Design is industrial design, the studio was founded in 1997. Author of globally successful design realizations for LINET, USSPA, BTL, TSE, ABB, 2N, DISA, KOH-I-NOOR etc. Winner of several awards for outstanding design, including the National Design Award, RedDot Award, BigSee Productdesign Award, Good Design and Good Design Award. Ivan Dlabač, chief designer and owner of Divan Design, has been running the Industrial Design Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague since 2007. Since 2008 he has been the President of the Union of Professional Designers of the Czech Republic From 2008 to 2010, he chaired the jury of the National Student Design Award and in 2022 he was the chairman of the international competition for the Petřín cable car. A year earlier, he was a member of the jury of the international competition for the unified information system of Prague.

I am architect and designer in love with minimalism and brands diversity. I value collaboration with other designers, artists and makers in creating projects that uniquely engage their material and cultural contexts. My creative practice spans abroad range of typologies, including public spaces, private residences, retail stores, furniture and all mixed with branding and graphic identities.
We design furniture, interiors, installations and products made out of different materials. We also offer consultations, Art Directing, styling/staging and collaboration on creative campaigns. Our studio is opened for experimental projects but working with a lot of limitations is challenging. We are able to design serial–produced or one of a kind limited product. We use techniques such as Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence or classical prototyping in the workshop based on every project specification. Collaboration with famous international brands and previous work at progressive studios around Europe give us experience to be used on the upcoming projects. We always try to achieve the Ideal and make only good compromises, while listening to the client – based on our experience that leads to the best result!

We take used cardboard that would otherwise end up in a scrap yard and literally find a new home for it. We sensitively transform pieces discarded elsewhere into a fully used design for the home or office. In durable furniture. In the beauty of radiating lamps. In imaginative decoration or packaging design with added value. We deal not only with the design, but also with the realization itself.
