A designer focused on working with glass, jewelry, and ceramics. Through various experiments, he explores and tests the possibilities of materials across these disciplines. His project Sugar Vases received an award at the Czech Design Week festival in 2023. In the same year, he was selected as a finalist of the international RoPlastic Prize competition. In 2022, he was nominated for the Designblok Award for a series of lighting objects created in collaboration with Anna Jožová. In 2020, he received the international Talent Award at the Schmuck fair in Munich. In the past, he has collaborated with brands such as Rako, Beauty Systems, and J&T Bank. His works have been exhibited at Milan Design Week (RoPlastic Prize Exhibition), MK&G in Hamburg, Joya Barcelona, Schmuck Munich, Portheimka Gallery (The Chemistry Gallery), Czech Design Week, Designblok, the POP UP Gallery in the Astra Palace on Wenceslas Square, a POP UP exhibition at Deelive Concept Store, and at Curator Contemporary in Prague.

| Description | Vlastimil Šenkýř explores the creation of his own contour lines using plexiglass, which he intentionally leaves in a rough, raw form. The basic shape is made from hand-blown glass, around which he subsequently builds layers of plexiglass and sugar. These constructed objects resemble the structures of rocks found in nature, but their origin is not determined by time—instead, it emerges from experiments with these materials. Although the structures closely resemble natural rock formations, they are human-made, not the result of natural processes. But does that mean they are artificial? Through this project, he seeks to highlight the fragility of the boundaries and concepts we tend to construct. His inspiration stems from the fact that we are all made of the same elementary particles of stardust—and thus connected to everything in this world. |
