Project	FOUNTAIN OF DOLNÍ VĚSTONICE

Description	In collaboration with the company Švec Beton, we designed and realized our first public project. The concept of the square and the fountain was developed by Jakub Děnge, while the design of the fountain itself was created by Tibor Mužík. The new fountain in Dolní Věstonice is not a traditional archetype of a fountain but a combination of a 3D map and a water feature. The 3D map depicts the Nové Mlýny waterworks, a complex of reservoirs built in the 1970s and 1980s. It also features the limestone massif of the Pavlov Hills, colloquially known as Pálava, which rises above the waterworks. Pálava and Nové Mlýny are inseparable, so it felt natural for us to display them together on the fountain. You will also find the Church of St. Linhart, which commemorates the village of Mušov that once stood here. The bridges that cross the waterworks at three locations, and a pin symbol, which serves as a reference point showing the visitor’s current location. Additionally, the fountain includes a popular photography spot, the two last solitary trees growing from the water's surface. Finally, there is the ruin of the Gothic Děvičky Castle, without which Pálava would not be Pálava, offering a view of the entire Nové Mlýny waterworks as if it were in the palm of your hand. The fountain’s form is intentionally low and horizontal for better visibility for visitors, but also to make it accessible to children.
