Jiri Krejcirik

Czech Republic / Company ID 04322371 QR +

Based in Prague, Jiri Krejcirik is an award-winning Czech designer whose practice operates at the intersection of design and art. His work focuses primarily on furniture, lighting, and objects, which he develops and presents under his eponymous brand, JIRI KREJCIRIK, while also engaging in bespoke commissions for private clients and collaborations with international companies. His professional practice extends from object and product design to spatial installations and exhibition scenography. Jiri Krejcirik’s work is characterised by a sensitive dialogue between contemporary form and historical reference. Drawing on local craftsmanship and traditional manufacturing techniques, his objects reinterpret elements of European cultural heritage through a distinctly contemporary lens. His approach consistently foregrounds context, material intelligence, and refined detail, allowing each project—whether functional, spatial, or conceptual—to emerge as a carefully considered response to its environment. Embracing the Czech tradition of craftsmanship, each one of Jiri Krejcirik’s products is hand-crafted locally in the Czech Republic, produced in a limited series and displayed only in meticulously chosen galleries and design showrooms in Europe, US and Australia.

Description Nouveau collection Design by Jiří Krejčiřík / limited edition with pyrographic drawings by visual artist Taja Spassková. This collection is inspired by Czech Art Nouveau aesthetics and interdisciplinary artists of the time such as František Bílek, who was known primarily as an artist working in the media of sculpture and graphics. Jiří designed sculptural furniture, which Taja etched with a technical firing that was typical for the time. These influences are present in the limited collections of collectable furniture in which both the design and the drawing are related to the period. The furniture is carefully handcrafted in the Czech Republic with a deep focus on fine details such as miter joints, beveled edges and soft-touch finishes. Kalokaghatos and Odyssey The Kalokagathos table is loosely inspired by the aesthetics of ancient Greece. This sculptural table is part of the Eclecticismus collection, in which I trace the relationship between history and the present. Each piece from the collection is loosely inspired by a certain style or movement from the past and at the same time refers to a unique personality closely associated with the given era. The table is precisely handcrafted in the Czech Republic from solid ash wood. The Odyssey table was included in the archive of the Moravian Gallery in Brno – the Museum of Applied Arts in the Czech Republic as part of their archive of Czech design.
